At the core of this project was careful documentation: we knew it was necessary to keep track of where each item had initially been stored, what had been done to it, and where it was finally housed. Additionally, because we were handling all these items, it was important to use that opportunity to examine their condition, in order to facilitate future conservation projects.
The following chart shows some of the complexities involved in re-housing the items: collection size within our initial survey varied from nearly 90 to a single page. Additionally, some of the items that appeared to be alone were discovered to be part of a much larger collection, the rest of which had been previously rehoused.
